Weekender at the Club

There were no disco lights. No smoke, certainly no fire. Not sure about bad dancing but that's a matter of opinion, my personal favourite is the dying octopus but others do not appreciate my art. Any whoo this weekend the club was the scene of a 8K 40K showdown between Eldar with Orks (Elks or Orkdar?) Vs Night Lords who had woken up grumpy from 30K.

Fun was had by all, except the poor inhabitants, and a draw was declared so that the combatants could get some sleep or whatever orks do ( don't think of what Night Lords do it is not safe for your sanity).

New post Madness

Quite a while has passed since the last post. Too long. This is your fault not mine. Just accept that and we can move on. So we have a HUGE photo dump of what has been going on. So settle down and look at the nice pictures (not in chronological order).

Last weeks happenings

As I am in exile in Faslane here is my mood:

For the opening game of the Clubs 40k League Necrons took on Dark Angels.

This is the only photo I took and very little changed. The marines arrived then died, the necrons moved nowhere except down the right flank. Some flyers came and went. The Necrons triumphed by some poor rolling by the Marines and the constant reanimation protocol rolls.

Next up was more Marines vs Necrons. Here is the opening turn with the Nercrons waiting to pounce.

Flying Croissants everywhere!! Scarabs eat everything they can see.

Mr Bob was a baker in the last days of the Necrontyr, He enjoyed his job making bread. When picking up the mail Mrs Bob noticed an official mail demanding their participation in the "Great Biotransference Event of the decade." She mentioned it to Mr Bob who said it was probably a timeshare and that it needed ignoring. Mrs Bob cooed that if you go you get a free blender and that it would be nice to get out the house. Mr Bob agreed to go but said nothing good would come of it. So off the Bobs went. Now as a warrior Mr Bob  takes every chance he can to rebel and here he can be seen refusing to face the enemy . Once the battle ends and he returns to the Tomb World and his standby position he can be heard, by those who care to listen, to mumble "Told you so"
The longest fight ever ends with, wait it never ends, however the rest of the marines have gone home and leave the field to the glory of Necrontyr.
So far we have had 5 games and if I had office here I would show the matrix however I do not so just pretend.
we have lots to go so...... send pictures.

Here we have the club (read Bash's) projects. I will try to get some of Brendon's up soon.

This is an unfortunate condition that comes from being a WE or too much technical paint, I am not sure which.
However this is what it was all for. Well worth it and an excellent factory for marines to die in.

And finally a picture of a cat. It always ends with cats. Ungrateful buggers.

40k League Rules

Ahoy Gentlemen. Here are our house rules for the upcoming league:

  • Not to exceed 1500 points. Not one point over. No exceptions.
  • All armies are to be finalised and placed in the file, 2 copies please.
  • All armies are to be bound. that is in a detachment or formation. No unbound yet
  • Forgeworld is acceptable. If you can live with yourself.

Great Scenery!
  • No single unit or vehicle can cost over 750 Points.
  • Armies cannot contain more than 2 detachments, formations or both. Allies must be AoC or better.
  • Lists are only for that season and can be changed between seasons. You can change armies if you wish to. But cannot change during a season for any reason. None. Nada. Zip.
  • To be played using standard setup rules.
  • Both players to be happy with the terrain setup and terrain rules before play.
  • The league is in tabular form. Split into seasons. Each season lasts as long as it takes for each player to have played all other players once, For all players.
  • Each season is to have a theme. That theme will be chosen by a player chosen at random after the first season.
  • A win is worth 2 points and a draw 1 point to each player. If you lose you get shame and and pity.

  • Points are distributed on a reverse placing basis. If you come top the points you will get is equal to the number of players. Last is always one. Extrapolate the rest.
  • Points will be kept and accumulated through the seasons.
end of transmission

Is everyone happy with these? I will have the matrix for Thursday.
So far I have in:
G
Si
Freddie
Ian
Me
Bash

Stuff that has been happening at the club

In the last month we have had quite a busy period. Here is a selection:

Dystopian Wars with the Evil RC against the Heroic Freedom loving FSA. Looks like 2 of the FSA ships are in permanent darkness (definitely not unpainted!) .

Warhammer Fantasy with Lizardmen Vs Wood Elves.

Valiant Skinks face off against a huge Treeman. Needless to say they lost. The rest of the lizards amble onwards.

Nearly there boys one more push. Or to translate: Raaargh raaaaargh rarh ribbit.

Son of a B*TCH. Damn slippery, sneaky and underhand elves. Teleporting between woods is just not done in polite society.

Necrons vs Tyranids. Machine Vs Flesh. 1110110001 Vs Raaargh. 1500pts. What I learned from this is know your army and the range of their guns as spending 2 turns getting into range is not wise!

Grey Knights Vs Tyranids. The club is apparently being consumed by the Great Devourer. Great times.

And to finish some good advice for the elder gentleman, It is certainly something I will remind sickbay if I need one!

Forgeworld Rowner's New Manufactorum

With Brother Captain/ Farseer Bash on a terrain building binge he has begun a mammoth task of creating a HUGE manufactorum. And in good engineering fashion he began with a plan.

Those older readers will remember these plastic building connectors from Necromunda and some of the other buildings.

AAAArgh painted models.

So we have the framework of the building and next up will be the painting and completing the terrain.

And we end with the advice of a modern sage Cave Johnson
